This story conveys the truth & synergy of the Scriptures that is most uncommon today. The stark choice between the kingdom of man & the Kingdom of God we all must make without compromise is brilliantly portrayed in this true story. In many parts of the world today Christians & Jews are again being faced with similar choices & suffering death & persecution. For many of the Dutch people in the story, a deep faith & knowledge of the word of God proved to be a sustaining resource deeper than they ever imagined. I was challenged to be rid of all semblance of superficiality in my own faith & to double my efforts to study & learn God's Word while I have the chance. My favourite line in the movie was when Hans, a Christian, said to the Rabbi, 'My Saviour is a Jew' and how he answered the Rabbi about the need for the New Testament. 'The Old had prophecy in it that needed fulfilling.' Oh, how we need to renew our love of God's Word & to fear & obey him. (Ecc 12:13) I highly recommend Return to the Hiding Place.
